# When Stereo Records Became Popular, Attempts Were Made To Improve The Sound Of Those Recorded In Mono With A Trick.
It Was The Infamous Fake (Or Fake) Stereo!.
Two Channels Were Always Used, The Original Mono Was Sent Identically In Both But... One Of The Two Channels, It Was Started Slightly Later Than The First.
When I Say slightly I'm Talking About Milliseconds! (I Don't Know How Many, But It Must Have Been Less Than 50 ms).
A Bit Of Reverb Was Added, The Lower Frequencies Were Cut And The Old Mono Recording Magically Became Almost Stereo (But It Wasn't At All) Always Used, And The Original Mono Recording Was Sent Identically In Both... One Of The Two Channels, Started Slightly Later Than The First.
